¡Hoy ha sido un día muy atareado! Miss Lucy se ha ido a Madrid a ver el concierto de «One Direction» así que tenemos una nueva profesora llamado Miss Tibi. Miss Tibi ha trabajado como tutora en Alhaurín de la Torre desde 2005 y también tiene una hija de 12. Ella se quedará con nosotros durante el resto del campamento de verano.
Today was a very busy day! Miss Lucy has gone to Madrid to see the One Direction concert so we have got a new teacher called Miss Tibi. Miss Tibi has been an English tutor in Alhaurín de la Torre since 2005 and also has a daughter of 12. She will be staying with us throughout the rest of summer camp.
Hoy comenzamos cantando fuera pero hoy Miss Michelle trajo su piano acordeón y los niños probaron diferentes instrumentos de percusión para acompañar las canciones. Triángulos, panderetas, castañuelos, agitadores, xilófonos y tambores.
Terminamos y nos dividimos en grupos con nuestros monitores, sentando en círculos para el registro y para hablar. Cada profesora nos pregunta nuestros nombres, edades, colores favoritos, el deporte que más nos guste, mascotas etc. Pasamos la pelota y quien lo tiene, ¡tiene que hablar en inglés por supuesto!
Today we started by singing outside but today Miss Michelle brought her piano accordion and the children tried different percussion instruments to accompany the songs. Triangles, tambourines, castanets, shakers, xylophones and drums!
We finished and divided into our groups with our monitors, sitting in circles for register call and talking. Each teacher asks us our names, ages, favourite colours, most enjoyable sport, pets etc. We pass the ball and whoever has the ball talks in English of course!
Después comenzamos con los actividades deportivos. Carreras, aros y saltar la comba hoy. Algunos niños aprendieron como entrar a la comba sin que parara. Algunos saltaron en el castillo y otros jugaron el futbol.Desayunamos desde las 11.30 a 12.00, hablando de todos los diferentes ingredientes de nuestros bocatas. Jamón, mantequilla, nocilla, queso etc.
Después del desayuno entramos para empezar el taller del día – reciclar. Todos habían traído una botella de plástico de litro y medio con el tapón así que solo tuvimos que decorarlo con piececitos de papel y añadiendo un poco de agua para establecerles y ya esta. ¡Bolos gigantes!
No tuvimos tiempo de jugar a los bolos hoy así que limpiamos y mañana jugaremos.
We then started our sports activities. Races, hulahoops and skipping today. Some children learnt how to enter the skipping rope without it stopping! Some children jumped on the castle and others played football. We had breakfast from 11.30am until 12, talking about all the different things on our sandwiches! Ham, butter, chocolate paste, cheese etc.
After breakfast we all went inside to start today’s workshop – recycling. Everybody had bought a 1.5 litre plastic bottle with the lid on so all we had to do was decorate them with little pieces of paper putting a little bit of water in each to stabilize them and voila! Giant skittles.
We didn’t have time to play bowls today, so we cleared everything up and tomorrow we will play with them!
