Fabricando fósiles

Hoy hemos empezado el día con deportes en el patio y cantando con los instrumentos musicales. Tenemos algunos músicos en los grupos, pianistas, guitaristas, flautistas y violinistas!

Los grandes ganaron 71 puntos ayer, así que su premio fue ir al parque a dar de comer a las tortugas y a los peces. Algunos de ellos tenía un nuevo app en sus móviles así que fueron en busca de Pokemons con Alex! Captuaron uno en el parque!

Making fossils

Today we started off with sports on the patio and singing with the musical instruments. We have some musicians in the groups, pianists, guitarists, recorderists and violinists!

The big ones won 71 points yesterday so their prize was going to the park to feed the turtles and the fish. Some of them had a new app on their mobiles so they went looking for Pokemons with Alex! They captured one in the park!

De vuelta para desayunar en el patio y saltar en el castillo hinchable. Hoy llovió! Asi que cantamos una canción en inglés sobre la lluvia!

Back for breakfast on the patio and bouncy castle time. Today it rained! So we sang “it’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring!”

Hoy tuvimos dos talleres. Los grandes hicieron fósiles y los chicos hicieron teléfonos para animarlos a hablar los unos con los otros.

We had two workshops today. Fossil making for the big group and telephone making for the little ones, to encourage them to talk to each other!

Comenzamos con el taller de hacer fósiles porque es la semana de la naturaleza. Miss Aloma demonstró como hacer play doh (pasta de harina) marron con café y después todos la copiaron. Tuvieron que empujar ramitas, hojas, piñas y hasta hicieron huellas en la masa, imitatando fósiles. Los dejaremos secar hasta mañana y parecerá que tengan como mínimo mil años! Todos pusieron sus nombres y realmente disfrutaron de la actividad.

We started off with the fossil making workshop as it’s nature week. Miss Aloma demonstrated how to make brown play doh with coffee and then the students all copied. They had to press twigs, leaves, pine cones and even made foot-prints in the doh, imitating fossils. We’ll leave them to dry until tomorrow and they will look like they are a thousand years old. Everybody put their names on them and really enjoyed the activity.

¡Teléfonos! El grupo de Miss Sheila hicieron teléfonos con tazas de papel y cuerda para animarlos a hablar los unos con los otros. El teléfono solo funcionaba si hablaban en inglés así que les encantó! Fue muy divertido hacerlos y ver como de largo podían hacer la cuerda y experimentando a ver como de lejos podían ponerse el uno del otro antes de que la “conexión telefónica” se rompiese. Una gran idea de Miss Sheila.

Telephones! Miss Sheila’s group made telephones with paper cups and string to encourage them to talk to each other. The telephone only worked when they spoke English so they loved it! It was great fun making them and seeing how long they could make the string then experimenting to see how far away they could stand from each other before the “telephone connection” was interrupted. A great idea from Miss Sheila.

Hoy los estudiantes tuvieron juego libre adicional mientras que las otras clases hicieron sus talleres y disfrutaron jugando en la lluvia y sintiendose como niños ingleses! A nuestros niños nativos les encantó. Se sintieron como en casa.

Today the students had extra playtime while other classes did their workshops so they enjoyed playing in the rain and feeling like English children! Our native children loved it! They felt they were back home in England.
