Taller de tartas

Hoy ha sido el día de las tartas mini de bolas. Miss Michelle montó todo en la zona de Miss Tibi y rotamos los grupos, cada uno turnandose para hacer las tartas.

Aprendemos sobre los onzas en el Reino Unido y pesamos los ingredientes con un peso antigüo. Cantamos mientras
cocinamos. “Mix and mix and mix and mix!” (Mezclar y mezclar!) Los niños con alergías alimenticios tenían su alternativo – magdalenas sin gluten etc.

Fairy bun workshop

Today was cake making day. Miss Michelle set everything up in Miss Tibi’s area and the groups rotated, each having a turn to bake the cakes.

We learnt what an ounce is, Great British measurements and weighed the ingredients with an old-fashioned scale. We sang as we baked. “Mix and mix and mix and mix!”
The children with food allergies were given alternatives like gluten-free cakes etc.

La maquína para hacer las tartas-mini es fantastica! Doce magdalenas en 5 minutos y el lugar olía tan bien!!!

Cada niño tenía 3 o 4 cakepops en un vaso de plástico que decoraron con caramel o chocolate liquido y fideos de colores. Entonces los tapamos con plastico-film para llevar a casa y comer después del almuerzo para merendar.

The cake pop machine is fantastic! Twelve little cake pops in 5 minutes and the place smelt son nice!!!

Each child had 3 or 4 cakepops in a plastic cup which they decorated with liquid caramel or chocolate and multi-coloured hundreds and thousands. We covered them with clingflim to take home to eat after lunch.

Here is the recipe we used and a workshop to join the dots.

Cake pops

Ingredients

8 oz (200 grams) butter
8 oz sugar
12 oz (300 grams) flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder
3 eggs – room temperature
Milk and vanilla flavouring

Method

Wash your hands.

Weigh the ingredients and beat the eggs.

Preheat the popcake maker 5 minutes.

Cream the butter and the sugar together.

Gradually sieve the flour and the baking powder into the bowl.

Add the eggs and vanilla flavouring and beat. (If necessary add a little milk.)

Pour the mixture into cake moulds and cook for 6 minutes. (The cakes are cooked when an inserted knife comes out clean).

Stand to cool.

Decorate with melted chocolate or icing sugar and hundreds and thousands.
